Introduction
The Institute of Humanities and Arts is a dynamic department with a highly qualified, skilled, and motivated faculty holding PhDs and MPhils in fields such as English (Linguistics & Literature), International Relations & Pakistan Studies, Islamic Studies, Fine Arts, and Textile Design. We also provide a range of specialized courses tailored to meet the evolving needs of undergraduate and graduate students across various university departments, including Engineering, Information Technology, and Basic Sciences. The Department prioritizes the enhancement of classroom instruction by incorporating modern teaching techniques and state-of-the-art technology.
Our primary objective is the holistic development of students—personally, academically, and professionally—guided by the principles of humanism and innovation across cultural, social, political, and economic domains. Personal growth is supported by effective organizational structures and resources, while academic and professional development is rooted in well-structured courses delivered by faculty members actively engaged in research. Additionally, the Department regularly organizes research-driven seminars, talks, training sessions, and workshops to foster skill development for both faculty and students.
Vision & Mission
The Institute of Humanities and Arts aims to cultivate a profound understanding of the moral, ethical, political, and ideological forces that shape our world. We believe that a thriving society is built on qualities like altruism, civility, compassion, and generosity, and the humanities emphasize and evaluate the importance of these characteristics. Through the liberal arts, students are introduced to aesthetic values, while studies in language, literature, history, and religion provide a unique lens into human nature and society. These disciplines broaden perspectives beyond specialized fields, inspire creative thinking, and help discover new directions.
Studying the humanities equips students with essential skills for self-reflection, adaptability, and lifelong learning. These capabilities foster independent learning, supporting continuous growth in scientific knowledge and teaching expertise throughout one’s career. The traditional liberal arts education, once valued for its ability to enhance interpersonal skills and effective communication, remains relevant today—providing foundational skills that support career success, promotions, and competitive opportunities like grants. An education enriched by humanities knowledge complements scientific training and upholds the ideal that science addresses facts, while the humanities engage with values
