Punjab Higher Education Minister Chairs 18th KFUEIT Syndicate Meeting

Punjab Minister for Higher Education and Pro-Chancellor of Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology (KFUEIT), Rahim Yar Khan, Rana Sikandar Hayat, chaired the 18th Syndicate Meeting of the University, held on 29 June 2026.

The meeting was attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Ir. Dr. Amir Azam Khan and Syndicate members including Ms. Ishrat Ashraf (MPA), Mr. Mahmood Ahmed (MPA), Mr. Rais Nabeel Ahmed (MPA), Mrs. Zahida Azhar (Additional Secretary, Universities, Higher Education Department), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran (Vice Chancellor, Islamia University of Bahawalpur), Engr. Dr. Muhammad Sadiq (Member, Pakistan Engineering Council), Mr. Kashif Farooq (Director, PITB), Mr. Majid Mustafa Khan (Director, PHEC), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Inayatullah Khan (Vice Chancellor, UET Taxila), Engr. Sadia Masood (Director, Technology Upgradation & Skills Development Company), Engr. Fatima Awan (Network Specialist, Jazz Pakistan), Engr. Prof. Dr. Shahid Ali (Professor, FAST-NUCES Lahore), Engr. Muhammad Irfan Jamil (Head Denim Dry Operations and Projects, Sapphire Fibres Limited) , Mr. Asghar Ali, Finance Department and Engr. Dr. Javed Iqbal (Registrar, KFUEIT).

The Syndicate extensively deliberated on a wide range of agenda items pertaining to the University's academic, administrative, financial, governance, research, quality assurance, infrastructure development, student welfare and institutional advancement. Members reaffirmed their commitment to transparency, good governance, academic excellence, innovation, and a student-centered higher education system.

A major outcome of the meeting was the approval of the University's annual budget. The Syndicate appreciated the University's prudent financial management and expressed confidence that the approved budget would further strengthen academic programs, research, infrastructure development, student services and the University's long-term sustainability.

The Syndicate also appreciated KFUEIT's continued progress in promoting sustainability initiatives, efficient resource utilization and environmentally responsible institutional practices.

Chairman appreciated the arrival of Foreign students at KFUEIT for research and higher education

Internship opportunities and future collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) also came under discussion. The Pro-Chancellor directed PITB to facilitate and strengthen internship opportunities for KFUEIT students, enabling them to gain practical industry exposure, enhance their professional competencies and improve their employability in the evolving digital economy.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to further strengthening KFUEIT as a leading public-sector university through quality education, effective governance, innovation, sustainability and strategic partnerships
