KFUEIT Hosts Lecture on Sustainable Debt Management
RAHIM YAR KHAN, PAKISTAN – The Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology (KFUEIT) recently hosted a lecture on "Sustainable Debt Management" by Professor Ahmed Jamal Pirzada of the School of Economics at the University of Bristol, UK. The event, organized by the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) at KFUEIT in collaboration with the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), was held for the KFUEIT Innovators Group (KING).
Professor Pirzada's lecture provided valuable insights into how countries can effectively manage their debt, including approaches for working with international funding agencies like the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He detailed the various risks and uncertainties involved in debt management and highlighted the significant influence of factors such as political economy, the growth-real interest ratio, and exchange rate fluctuations.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, including the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Rahim Yar Khan, Mr. M. Irfan Anwer, who served as the Chief Guest. Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shahzad Murtaza welcomed all attendees and emphasized the importance of such academic discussions.
During his address, Professor Murtaza conveyed the vision of the university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Ir. Dr. Amir Azam Khan, for promoting innovation in teaching and research at KFUEIT. He underscored the university's commitment to adopting innovative approaches to both pedagogy and research to better prepare students for the challenges of the modern world. Professor Murtaza also expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from the Rahim Yar Khan district government.
The event concluded with Professor Murtaza and Mr. Irfan Anwer presenting a souvenir to Professor Pirzada. Professor Murtaza also recognized the dedication of Engr. Dr. M. Saif Ur Rehman, Director of ORIC, and his team for their continuous efforts in organizing informative and engaging events for the university community.
