Colorful Sports Gala Commences at KFUEIT with Enthusiastic Performances
The 8th Annual Sports Gala at Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology (KFUEIT) has officially begun, showcasing vibrant and energetic performances from students. The grand opening ceremony was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof. Ir. Dr. Amir Azam Khan, alongside Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahzad Murtaza, Registrar Dr. Muhammad Javed Iqbal, and President of the District Press Club Qaisar Ghafoor. The event witnessed a warm welcome as players and organizers showered flowers upon the esteemed guests.
On the first day, students from various departments participated in a march-past, saluting the stage where dignitaries were present. In his address, the Vice Chancellor emphasized the university's commitment to promoting healthy activities alongside academics. He noted that students' enthusiasm in both academics and sports is highly commendable and reflects positively on their holistic development. He highlighted that sports play a crucial role in keeping youth physically fit and socially productive, shielding them from negative influences.
President Qaisar Ghafoor applauded KFUEIT for its remarkable achievements in a short span, praising the leadership of Prof. Amir Azam Khan and his team. He expressed admiration for the university's academic vibrancy, lush green campus, and well-maintained sports grounds.
The first day featured thrilling competitions in tug-of-war, taekwondo, athletics, cricket, football, volleyball, and handball, with participants demonstrating exceptional talent and sportsmanship. The event was attended by prominent faculty members, including Dr. Muhammad Sagir, Dr. Basharat Gul, Dr. Adnan Bajwa, Dr. Bilal Tahir, and many others, along with a large number of students.
