Its pulsed-xenon light source flashes only during data acquisition — eliminating continuous sample illumination, minimizing photobleaching, and giving the instrument a working lamp lifetime of roughly ten years without measurable output degradation.
A unique go-stop-flash monochromator drive delivers scan rates of up to 24,000 nm/min without peak-position shift, enabling full-spectrum acquisition in under three seconds and kinetic data collection at up to 80 points per second. Red-sensitive photomultiplier detectors extend usable range to 900 nm without compromising UV sensitivity, and the large, open sample compartment — combined with inherent room-light immunity — accommodates cuvettes, micro-volume cells, solid samples, fiber-optic probes, and microplates.
