Mr. Muhammad Taqqi is a dedicated legal professional with extensive academic credentials and diverse experience across litigation, legislative drafting, and institutional legal management. He earned his LLB (Hons) from Bahauddin Zakariya University in 2017, followed by an LLM in 2019, laying a strong foundation for his career in law.
Mr. Muhammad Taqqi commenced his professional journey with a practice-focused approach at the Lahore High Court, Multan Bench, where he refined his expertise in advocacy, legal research, and court representation.
He later joined the Punjab Safe Cities Authority headquarters Lahore, initially as a Law Officer and subsequently ascending to the role of Chief Law Officer. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in legal reforms and institutional policy development.
Expanding his professional portfolio, Mr. Taqqi served as Manager Legal at the Punjab Social Protection Authority, Lahore, where he led the legal department and represented the Authority as its principal legal head.
Research interests encompass Human Rights Law, Criminal Law, and the transformation of legal systems in the age of Artificial Intelligence. He is particularly focused on how emerging technologies are reshaping legal education, legal research methodologies, and the administration of justice. His work explores the ethical, constitutional, and pedagogical implications of AI, including its role in enhancing access to justice, improving legal reasoning tools, and modernizing the delivery of legal knowledge. Mr. Taqqi takes keen interest in reading legal literature and teaching law. He firmly believes in the principle: “Teaching the law shapes tomorrow’s justice.”
Mr. Taqqi was awarded an Appreciation Certificate with prize by the Punjab Safe Cities Authority for his significant contribution in proposing, drafting, and amending the legal framework related to the e-Challan system under The Punjab Motor Vehicles Ordinance, 1965.
He also represented the Authority in the landmark and reported judgment titled Nasira Ashfaq v. DG Safe Cities Authority & Others, which stands as a notable legal precedent.
