Shahzad Atiq Jatoi is a committed legal academic, researcher, and practitioner with extensive experience in legal education and practice. He completed his LL.B in 2006 from the University of Karachi and earned his LL.M in Criminology in 2009 from the prestigious S.M. Law College, Karachi—one of Pakistan’s oldest and most respected institutions known for academic excellence and producing leading jurists, advocates, and legal scholars.
With professional practice across Karachi and Rahim Yar Khan at both District and High court levels, he brings strong practical insight into his teaching and research. In 2019, he joined the Law Department as a pioneer faculty member, contributing significantly to curriculum development, academic restructuring, accreditation processes, and departmental growth.
He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor, where his focus remains on strengthening legal education, student mentorship, and institutional development. His scholarly work includes a book on the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and multiple publications in recognized journals.
1. IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON PEOPLE’S MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH
This study provides a comprehensive analysis of how the COVID-19 pandemic affected both mental and physical health across different segments of society. It highlights rising psychological stress, increased anxiety, lifestyle disruptions, and reduced medical access. The research emphasizes the importance of policy-level interventions to support public well-being during large-scale crises.
2. EXECUTION OF ISLAMIC DEFICIT UNDER THE ESTABLISHMENT OF PAKISTAN
This publication examines the challenges Pakistan faces in harmonizing Islamic principles with modern legislative frameworks. It reviews constitutional provisions, judicial interpretations, and historical developments that contribute to the “Islamic deficit.” The study calls for comprehensive reforms and a more consistent approach to applying Islamic jurisprudence in state governance.
3. LEGITIMATE AND TRIBUNAL EDUCATION IN PAKISTAN: A DISCUSSION REPORT
This paper critically evaluates the state of legal and tribunal-related education in Pakistan. It identifies gaps in curriculum design, lack of practical training, and limited exposure to tribunal procedures. The paper proposes reforms to enhance law school education, strengthen faculty capacity, and integrate tribunal-focused practical modules.
4. THE RIGHT OF CUSTODY OF CHILDREN IN A DISPUTE BETWEEN PARENTS
This research focuses on legal standards governing child custody disputes in Pakistan, emphasizing the “welfare of the minor” as the paramount principle. The paper advocates for clearer legal guidelines and child-centered reforms to ensure balanced and fair custody decisions.
