Biography

Nasir Mehmood specializes in the field of Computer Science. He received his M. Phil. in Computer Science from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, and later obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Lahore. Additionally, Nasir holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics as well. His doctoral research delved into the development of efficient algorithms designed for optimal distributed energy storage utilization, specifically in the context of energy arbitrage, peak shaving, and frequency regulation. During his M. Phil. studies, Nasir developed digital watermarking schemes for H.264/AVC based compressed video for video authentication and copyright protection. Previously, Nasir served as a Senior Software Engineer and Technical Content Architect in various software houses in Pakistan. His role as a Senior Software Engineer enriched his expertise in image and video coding. He has worked on the development of ITU-T/ISO complaint video encoders such as H.264/AVC, MPEG2, MPEG4 for real time applications. Nasir has also worked as a visiting lecturer at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad.
