Dr. Tariq Mehmood is currently working as Assistant Professor at Institute of Food Science & Technology, Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, Khawaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology, Rahim Yar Khan with the additional charge as Head of Department, Department of Hotel and Restaurant Management. Previously, He has worked as Assistant Professor in Dadabhoy Institute of Higher Education, (DIHE) Karachi. He has also worked as Assistant Professor in the Department of Food Science and Technology, Govt. College University Sahiwal Campus, Sahiwal. Dr. Mehmood has completed his PhD in Food Technology from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad with foreign experience as Research Scholar in the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI, United States of America. He has two-year research experience in HEC funded research project and served as Teaching Assistant in University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan. He also has worked in Micronutrient Initiative research project for Wheat flour and edible Oil fortification. He has participated in many national & International Conferences, Symposia, workshops and seminars. A number of publications on his credit are published in reputed National and International journals.

Dr. Tariq has earned experience in the domains of Fruits and Vegetables Processing during his doctoral study and completed his dissertation entitled “Characterization and Utilization of Citrus Wastes as Value added Fruit Leather”. His areas of expertise comprise of Fruits and Vegetables Processing, Food Analysis, Baking Science and Food Product Development. He supervised the students in International Student expo, in University of Education, Lahore and secured 2nd position among 60 Institutes of Pakistan. Currently, he is supervising MS and PhD Scholars as well.
- Secured 2nd Position in “2nd International Student Convention & Expo 2019” held on 16-19th April 2019 at Royal Palm Club, Lahore.
- Got 1st Prize (Certificate and 75,000 PKR) in Nationwide Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exhibition and Mega Event Dice Invent 2014 held on 19-20th December at IBA Main Campus Karachi Pakistan.
