Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Shahzad Munir is an accomplished Chemical Engineer with extensive expertise in chemical engineering and related fields. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, completed in November 2019, along with an MSc (2014) and BSc (2011) in Chemical Engineering from UET Lahore and NFC IET Multan, respectively.
In addition to his role as an Assistant Professor, Dr. Munir serves as the Departmental Exam Coordinator and Admissions Coordinator at the Institute of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at KFUEIT.
Dr. Munir specializes in the treatment of industrial wastewater using advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), such as catalytic ozonation, ozonation, photocatalysis, and electrocoagulation, focusing on the effective removal of contaminants. His doctoral research contributed significantly to advancements in wastewater treatment. He has supervised and co-supervised 10 MS Chemical Engineering and MS Environmental Science students. He also brings practical experience in solar water heater fabrication, biomass densification, and improving domestic stove efficiency through a collaborative project with SNGPL Pakistan and UET Lahore.
Dr. Munir has published 18 research papers in the areas of wastewater treatment, advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), and biomass. His research focuses on industrial wastewater treatment using techniques such as catalytic ozonation, ozonation, photocatalysis, and electrocoagulation, contributing significantly to advancements in this field.
He has also reviewed papers for several prestigious journals, including Process Safety and Environmental Protection, Journal of Environmental Management, Environmental Science and Pollution Research, International Journal of Environmental Science and Technology, Desalination and Water Treatment, Environmental Progress & Sustainable Energy, and Environment, Development and Sustainability.
With over a decade of teaching experience at both the college and university levels, Dr. Munir combines practical industry insights with academic expertise, making valuable contributions to his students and the field of chemical engineering.
