Dr. Majeeda Rasheed
Assistant Professor
Ph.D. from University of the Punjab, Lahore
Research Interests

Zoonotic diseases and emerging viruses and bacteria which affect environment, human, birds and wild life population.

Biography

I have been working on genome analysis of PPR virus originating in sheep and goat from Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan during my PhD. and I isolated avian Influenza (H9N2) Virus from poultry and poultry workers during my M. Phil research. I worked as Lecturer in three public and private universities, and my responsibilities include teaching various graduate & undergraduate courses in Zoology/Microbiology and Biology related subjects along with practical’s. I am interested to teach and work on Zoonotic disease surveillance in natural reservoirs like birds, ducks and humans and research related to Paramyxoviruses and Orthomyxovriuses mostly. I want to enhance my knowledge just to improve myself as scientific person.

Job Experiences: I have almost seven year job experience in well reputed Institutions Like UVAS, Lahore, Akhuwat- Faisalabad Institute of Research Science & Technology, Faisalabad, University of Okara, Renala khurd, Okara and KFUEIT, RYK. I also have work experience in Industry like Nestle (PVT).LTD. and Maxim International PVT.LTD.
