Dr. Muhammad Shahid Habib

Dr. Muhammad Shahid Habib is a KACIID Fellow of 2016, based in Vienna, Austria. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor and Program Advisor for the Religious Studies and Comparative Religions programs at Khawaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology in Pakistan. He holds a PhD in Islamic Studies with a specialization in Comparative Religions and Interfaith Studies from the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI), and has completed post-doctoral research at the Islamic Research Institute, IIUI, Islamabad. 
Dr. Habib supervised numerous theses for BS, MPhil, and PhD programs, providing guidance and mentorship to students as they navigate their research journeys. His role has involved helping students develop critical thinking skills and ensuring that their work meets rigorous academic standards. Additionally, I have contributed to the development of curricula for various academic programs, ensuring that they are both innovative and aligned with modern educational and industry needs. These efforts have not only enhanced the quality of academic instruction but also fostered an environment of continuous learning and improvement. Through my work, I strive to elevate both student achievement and the academic framework of the institution.
I have more than 20 years of experience in teaching and research, during which I have honed my expertise in guiding students and contributing to academic growth. My extensive experience spans various disciplines, allowing me to effectively mentor students and collaborate with colleagues on a wide range of educational initiatives. Throughout my career, I have consistently aimed to inspire a love for learning, foster critical thinking, and contribute meaningfully to both scholarly research and the academic community.
Dr. Habib's scholarly contributions include over 50 publications in both national and international peer-reviewed journals. In addition to his academic responsibilities at various universities across Pakistan, he regularly presents his research at national and international conferences. Furthermore, he has organized numerous conferences and seminars at universities within Pakistan, reflecting his commitment to advancing academic discourse. Proficient in Arabic, English, Persian, and Urdu, Dr. Habib seeks to foster peace and harmony at both national and international levels through interreligious and intrareligious dialogue. His mission is to reduce conflicts among nations and promote service to humanity. 
He is a strong advocate for the values of tolerance, pluralism, and diversity, which are central to his work in interfaith dialogue. His major areas of interest include Islamic Education, World Religions, Islamic Studies, Muslim-Christian Theology of Interfaith Dialogue, Peace and Conflict Management, Arabic Language and Literature, the Islamic Worldview and Civilization, as well as Quranic and Hadith Sciences and Islamic Philosophy.
Throughout his career, Dr. Habib has had the opportunity to visit numerous countries, including Austria, Germany, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Turkey, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Dubai, Malaysia, Baku (Azerbaijan), and Abu Dhabi."
