Admission Rules & Regulations
1. General Instructions
- Designated Members of the University staff will be available for personal consultation during admission period.
- Try to submit the application along with the required documents as early as possible. Do not wait for the last date.
- As soon as the process of selection is completed, the merit list will be displayed showing the percentage aggregate marks of the applicants admitted in different disciplines against different categories.
2. Equivalent Examinations
The University recognizes the following examinations as equivalent to the Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry of the Pakistani Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education:
- Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) Examination of the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Azad Kashmir
- Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
- British General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) with Mathematics as an additional subject
- American High School Graduation Diploma (12th Grade) or equivalent
Equivalence of Certificates Up to Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC)/Intermediate Level:
The determination of equivalence and issuance of equivalent marks certificate up to HSSC level for certificates other than those issued by Pakistan's Boards is the jurisdiction of the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) as per decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Such applicants are required to attach an equivalence certificate showing marks with the application for admission issued by the IBCC.
3. Eligibility for Admission
3.1 For Engineering Programs
An applicant for admission to any of the Engineering Bachelor Degree Program offered by the University must fulfil the following requirements:
- He should have obtained at least 60% marks in F.Sc./DAE/B.Sc. examination excluding sports and Hafiz-e-Quran marks. Test should be valid till the closing date of online apply for admission.
- He should have appeared in Engineering College Admission Test (ECAT conducted by UET Lahore)/KFUEIT Entry Test/HAT for that particular academic session (when conducted) in which he seeks admission.
- He should meet standards of physique and eye sight laid down in the medical Certificate.
Seats for Diploma Holders
- For admission against seats reserved for the holders of Diploma of Associate Engineer, the candidate should have passed diploma examination of a Board of Technical Education in the relevant technology.
- DAE seats will be allocated According to PEC Criteria i.e. 2%.
- Applicants seeking admission against seats reserved for the holders of Diploma of Associate Engineer shall not be eligible unless their diplomas are in the relevant technology as specified against each degree course given below:

3.2 For Computer Science & Information
Technology Programs
An applicant for admission to BS (Computer Science) or BS (Information Technology) Degree Program offered by the University must fulfil the following requirements:
- He should have obtained at least 50% marks in F.Sc (Pre-Engineering) / ICS / DAE / B.Sc. examination excluding Hafiz-e-Quran marks. Moreover, applicant must have obtained at least 60% marks in Intermediate (HSSC) level Mathematics
- He should have obtained at least 40% marks in National Aptitude Test (NAT) / ECAT / HAT / KFUEIT Entry Test for that particular academic session (when conducted) in which he seeks admission
- He should meet standards of physique and eye sight laid down in the medical Certificate
Seats Reserved for Diploma Holders
- For BS(CS) and BS(IT) programs 5 seats are reserved for diploma holders
- For MSc (Computer Science) 5 seats are reserved for Associate Degree Program (ADP in Computer Science) holders

- 30% weight-Entry test marks
3.3 For BS Food Science and Technology
An applicant for admission to Food Science and Technology Bachelor’s Degree Program must fulfil the following requirements:
- He should have obtained at least 60% marks in F.Sc./DAE/B.Sc. examination excluding sports and Hafiz-e-Quran marks. Test should be valid till the closing date of online apply for admission
- He should have appeared in Engineering College Admission Test (ECAT conducted by UET Lahore)/KFUEIT Entry Test/HAT for that particular academic session (when conducted) in which he seeks admission
- He should meet standards of physique and eye sight laid down in the medical Certificate
Seats Reserved for Diploma Holders
- 2 Seats are reserved for DAE candidates

3.4 For Basic Sciences Programs
3.4.1 Undergraduate Programs
An applicant for admission to BS(Chemistry), BS(Physics) and BS(Mathematics) 04 years Bachelor’s Degree Programs offered by the University must fulfil the following requirements.
BS Physics:
The candidate seeking admission in BS Physics Program, must meet the following eligibility criterion
- Intermediate with Physics and Mathematics, securing at least 50 % marks in aggregate.
OR
- Any other examination of a Foreign University / Institution / Examin- ing Body, equivalent to Intermediate with Physics and Mathematics. Equivalence and percentage of marks will be determined by IBCC.
OR
- 2% quota for 3 years Diploma of Associate Engineering with Physics and Mathematics securing at least 60% marks.
BS Chemistry:
- Candidate should have at least 50% marks in Intermediate / equivalent with Chemistry from any accredited institution.
BS Mathematics:
- Candidate should have at least 50% marks in HSSC (Pre-Engineering Group) or equivalent with Mathematics.
- 02% quota for DAE candidates having at least 60% marks with Mathematics.
3.4.2 Graduate Programs
An applicant for admission to M.Sc.(Chemistry), M.Sc (Physics) and M.Sc (Mathematics) 02 years Master Degree Programs offered by the University must fulfil the following requirements
MSc Physics:
- Candidate should have at least 45% marks in B.Sc. with Mathematics & Physics.
MSc Chemistry:
- Candidate should have at least 45% marks in Bachelor degree with Chemistry or an equivalent degree from any recognized university.
MSc Mathematics:
- Candidate should have at least 45% marks in B.Sc. with Mathematics A& B.
MSc (CS)
An applicant for admission to MSc (CS) 02 years Degree Program offered by the University must fulfil the following requirements:
- He should have obtained at least 45% marks in B.Sc.
- He should have obtained B.Sc. degree with Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Science subjects.
- He should meet standards of physique and eye sight laid down in the medical Certificate.
Merit Determination
For Undergraduate Programs
- Total of (30% of Total marks obtained in Matriculation/Equivalent + 70% of total marks obtained in Intermediate/Equivalent).
For graduate Programs
- Average of (%age of Total marks obtained in B.Sc. + %age of Total marks obtained in relevant subject(s))
3.5 For Management Sciences
An applicant for admission to BBA Bachelor 04 years Degree Program must fulfill the following requirements:
- Applicant should have at least 2nd division in F.A/F.Sc/I.Com/ equivalent examination excluding sports and Hafiz-e-Quran marks.
- Applicant should have obtained at least 40% marks in National Aptitude Test (NAT)/ECAT/MCAT/KFUEIT Entry Test/HAT for that particular academic session (when conducted) in which he seeks admission
- He should meet standards of physique and eye sight laid down in the medical Certificate.
Seats for Diploma Holders: 05
Merit Determination BBA
- 70% weight –F.Sc or equivalent including Hafiz-e-Quran marks.
- 30% weight-Entry test marks
